Best iRobot Vacuums

This entry-level iRobot model is an excellent choice for those who don't wish to shell out the more expensive cost of a higher-end model. It has impressive navigation and obstacle-avoidance technology, and comes with voice and app controls as well as scheduled cleaning.

In our tests, its performance in vacuuming was outstanding. It swept up 55% of the debris. Its mopping was a success in getting rid of dried milk stains.

1. Roomba S9+

After testing robot vacuums for about a month, I'm convinced that the Roomba S9+ is the best option for the majority of households. Its unique D shape allows it to be close to corners and walls to provide an even better cleaning. Additionally, its powerful motor is more effective in removing pet hair than the other robots I've tried. The s9+ comes with advanced features like Dirt Detection and the ability to choose when it cleans with the iRobot Home App.

iRobot created vSLAM, a navigational software, which was initially designed to help mine detectors locate mines. It's a stunning achievement. It scans the room 25 times per second, and creates an accurate map of your space which helps Baby Rocky avoid getting snagged in the midst of a mess. This year's model also adds PerfectEdge Technology, which lets the s9+ hew close to tricky edges like the thin edges on my Ikea renovated kitchen cabinets.

The s9+ isn't inexpensive, but I think it’s the best WiFI-enabled robot vacuum I've ever used. The iRobot Home App, smart mapping and self-emptying bases make it easy to schedule the cleaning. Additionally, it's easy to set up and maintain, and feels well-built.

While I'm not convinced on the s9+'s'smart dirt sensor' (it's meant to identify areas that have high concentrations of debris and focus its cleaning power on those areas) or its 'quiet mode' (which sounds more like it's turned off than turned on) but its overall performance is unsurpassed by any other robot vacuum in my experience. It's also more effective in picking up kitty-litter and pet hair than its closest rival which is the less expensive ONSON GOOVI robot F007.

2. Roomba J7+

The Roomba J7+ is a robotic vacuum that comes with wet mopping capabilities. The j7+ uses advanced technology to eliminate obstacles and clean your floors without snagging an area. This new feature allows the robot to stay clear of obstacles like pet poop and other items that could cause it to break or become stuck. This is a significant improvement over earlier models that had to be able to avoid obstacles on the fly or by a user-programmed route.

When you send the j7+ on a map mission using the app, you can program it to create a smart map of your home. The j7+ will be able to automatically navigate to the exact location of the map it has created when it comes to cleaning. You can edit the map, label rooms and create cleaning zones to modify the j7+'s navigation options. The j7+ has strong battery performance and can clean for more than 100 minutes on a single charge. It is quieter on carpet than hard flooring, but still emits less sound (about 60db) than the CDC claims that most people find irritating.

If equipped with the mopping attachment the j7+ can automatically switch between mopping and sweeping to ensure your floors are clean. It comes with a powerful, 3-stage cleaning system, which includes an edge-sweeping vacuum and high-powered brushes that can move around furniture tight corners, as well as two multi-surface rubber brushes that work on various kinds of flooring. The j7+ is good at picking up pet hairs and debris from floors with low piles and bare floors.

While the J7+ is a fantastic robot vacuum, it's not as good as our top choice, the Ecovacs Deebot X1 Omni. The X1 is more reliable and has a longer battery life. It also has a higher charging speed and is compatible with an X1 base station that can automatically empty its own tank. It can also recognize your schedule and organize autonomous cleaning sessions.

3. Roomba i3 EVO

The Roomba i3 EVO is an excellent robot vacuum that does an exceptional job on floors that are not Effortlessly Clean and Mop with iRobot Roomba i5. The BestReviews Testing Lab put it up against the Shark AI Robot, and although both models offer similar cleaning capabilities, we found that the i3 EVO is better equipped to handle both low- and high-pile carpeting. The i3 has a larger dirt container, meaning it doesn't have to be emptied as often. It also comes with a Dual Virtual Barrier device that lets you identify areas that the robot should avoid while cleaning, making it a great option for homes with pets.

The i3 EVO, just like other irobots, utilizes smartmaps to keep track of the layout and divisions of your home. However it doesn't have cameras, as the i8/i8+ and the j7/j7+ or s9/s9+ do. The i3 EVO instead uses floor-tracking sensor to determine where rooms are located and how they're divided. Once it's done mapping the floor, the i3 EVO displays the smart map in the app, allowing you to modify the dividers and room labels if you need to.

Based on iRobot OS, the i3 EVO keeps one step ahead of the daily mess. It will learn your habits for cleaning and provides suggestions, such as scheduling cleaning time when you're away from home, or suggesting extra clean-ups during peak pollen or pet shedding season. You can also begin cleaning with a simple voice command by using Google Assistant or Alexa.

The i3 EVO does an impressive job cleaning floors with no dirt and tackling smaller particles like rice and larger material like cereal in a single step. It isn't very good dealing with pet hair, as well as other fine particles on floors that are clean. It takes several passes to eliminate them. This is not unusual for robovacs that do not have a dedicated suction for pet hair.

When the i3 EVO dustbin is full it automatically emptys the contents into the docking station's outside debris compartment and continues to clean. It will then return to the docking station and begin charging when the battery is low. This feature keeps your hands clean and prevents the i3 EVO's performance will stop deteriorating as debris accumulates.

4. Braava Jet M6

The Braava Jet is a robotic mopping device that aims to make cleaning floors easier. It's quite different from the previous Braava models, and it has a bigger water tank, which is located beneath its sleek and stylish lid. It actually cleans your floors using a sanitary cleaning solution, unlike other 2-in-1 hybrids. It also has a nice adjustable spray that allows you to choose the area you want it to clean, as well as an intelligent recharge and resume function.

It's simple to use and to set up. Just plug it into the outlet, download the iRobot App and follow the steps. It also works with Alexa or Google Assistant. You can ask it to begin cleaning or check its status. The iRobot App is one of the most user-friendly in the business and lets you plan, select rooms or areas to block off and more.

The M6 makes use of Imprint Smart Mapping to map out your home's layout. It does this by mapping each room with its contents without the use of cables or Robotvacuummops cameras. Like other iRobot products, this one is a little pricey but it has some nice features that make it a worthwhile cost. It comes with the base station, a washable mop pad, two paper-towelling pads dry pad, and an empty bottle of the company's own hard floor cleaner.
