What You Need to Know About Your Nissan Key Fob

You can also select an array of presets that meet your needs such as changing the mirrors and seat to ensure maximum comfort. You can also control the music on your smartphone so that you don't need to leave your car.

Intelligent Key Fob have a built-in antenna which transmits the signal when you enter your vehicle or press one of its buttons. Once the vehicle receives the signal, the system is activated for locking and unlocking doors, starting the engine, or opening the trunk. To test the fob take a step back from your vehicle and click on the buttons. If the lights flash or the horn sounds, you have successfully programmed the Intelligent Key Fob.

Like all remotes, Intelligent Key fobs require batteries to function. If the battery in yours is depleted the batteries, our Parts Department can help you replace it quickly and easily. To do this, you must remove the hidden key and access the battery compartment of your key fob. Replace the old battery with a new one after you have removed the old one. Assure that the positive side of the new battery faces in the same direction as it did with the previous one. Finally shut the battery compartment and return the hidden key to its hidden place within the case.

Remote Start

Nissan remote start allows drivers to heat or cool their vehicles from outside as long as they are within the operating range. The car's ignition is activated when a driver presses a button on their key fob or smartphone application. Remote start systems can also turn on the climate control so that the driver is able to choose their preferred temperature. Lockout Protection

Lockout protection prevents nuisance lockouts caused due to the impedance relay failing. A specific module within the power control unit monitors the activity of the impedance relay, and disables the output. This feature is available on vehicles with the Smart Key system, or through the vehicle's personalization menu.

Many serious accidents have occurred because the machine was running when it was supposed to be completely off to prevent maintenance or repairs. These accidents are often the result of stored energy that isn't properly released. Lock-out-tag-out (LOTO), which ensures that machines are shut off until a designated individual releases them, helps to prevent these types of accidents.

The LOTO system is comprised of a number of locks, tags and other devices that are used to secure, isolate or shut off the machine from electrical sources. All "affected", "authorized" and "qualified" personnel must be taught about the use of lockout and tagout devices. These devices include, but aren't only restricted to chains, locks and padlocks. Each device is uniquely identified and labeled with the date and time it was applied as well as the name and title of the person who is authorized and the reason for the lockout/tagout (repairs maintenance, repairs or repairs, etc.). It should be stated clearly that these devices are not able to be removed until an entire LOTO procedure has been completed.
