Its intelligent sensor system detects rugs and hardwood flooring and selects the appropriate mode. It also will know when to use the side brush or the power brush, which helps prevent tangles.

In my test I used a j7+ to clean a family room, an entryway, and a kitchen that has hard flooring and area rug. It also cleaned carpeted hallways and two bedrooms upstairs. The j7+ performed well in every room, picking up everything from crumbs from dinner to film night popcorn pet fur and everyday dirt. It is also very quiet with only 60db. Roomba S9+

The Roomba s9+ robot vacuum is the first iRobot robot vacuum to use "Perfect Edge Technology" which allows it to be closer to corners and edges. It also has a slimmer design, which makes it appear less intimidating than other robotic vacuums. Its sleek body is black with the lid in rose gold which opens to allow cleaning and dump. Its controls are situated on the side, and not in the middle as other models. It's also a bit smaller than its competitors, such as the Neato Botvac D7.

The s9+ has powerful suction that's 40 times more powerful than the previous-generation model. It also comes with smaller brush designs that is designed to allow it to collect more debris in one go. It did well in my tests and picked up 95 percent of the Cheerios on carpet and 90% on hardwood. However, it did smash a handful of pieces of hard cereal and send them flying across the floor.

The user-friendly app makes it easy to use and configure the S9+. You can schedule cleaning appointments, choose which rooms to clean and even use voice commands using Alexa or Google Assistant. The app allows you to examine your cleaning status and battery life.

Once it's done it's back to its home base which can double as an charging dock as well as a dirt bin. The dust bin is easily cleaned and replaced and is about half its competitors' size. You can also purchase another dustbin to keep in the bottom for additional cleaning.

The Shark AI Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a two-in-one robot that combines powerful vacuuming throughout the home with sonic cleaning that can thoroughly clean hard floors. It has an enormous self-emptying bin that can store debris for up to 60 days, meaning you won't need to empty it often. It has a better obstacle detection system than other robots and is able to avoid obstacles like furniture or pet hair. Some users have complained that the base fills quickly and doesn't empty easily as advertised.

The AI Ultra navigation system maps your home with 360-degree LIDAR. It creates an app that allows you to create rooms as "No-Go Zones" and then creates a detailed map of your home. It's also compatible with a self-emptying dock and performs better at maneuvering its own. It has a larger vacuum motor and is less susceptible to getting lost in thick carpeting. In spite of these advantages however, the IQ is still my top robot vacuum because it has an auto-emptying bin as well as a more efficient navigation system, and an impressive battery life. Shark's AI ultra is an excellent choice to get a more affordable vacuum. It has fewer parts that require regular cleaning, offers a similar battery life, and is built better. It's $50 less expensive than the Q5. However, if you're looking for a self-emptying bin, I'd recommend the Roborock.

Braava Jet M6

The Braava Jet is iRobot's most sophisticated mopping robot. It uses precision jet spray to dissolve and loosen sticky spills, kitchen grease and other household grime, without damaging furniture or rugs. It also can tackle tough pet stains and dirt and leave your floors looking like new. It is an automated cleaner that can start or stop the process at any time you wish and is compatible with smart home devices, such as Google assistant or Alexa.

The m6 is very easy to install. Connect the mop to its base station, and then, fill its tank with water. Download the iRobot App and follow the instructions to connect the mop to Wi-Fi. Once connected, m6 is now ready to start cleaning. To begin a cleaning task, either press one of the three buttons directly on the unit or use the app to trigger a cleaning session. The m6 will also automatically recharge when it is running low on power and can keep working until the task is done. It also features Keep Out Zones, which let you tell it to avoid areas like the space around your dog's bed or coffee spill.

The m6 requires less power than other vacuum cleaners. It requires only enough energy to spray water, move around your home, and maintain a connection over your wireless router. Even a two-hour mopping session did not drain the battery in any way.

The m6 has three mopping modes: standard mode that balances power cleaning with surface coverage; deep mode, that focuses on more difficult messes and extended coverage mode, for mopping areas that are larger in less than half the time. You can also modify the settings of your m6 by using the iRobot App. You can design an individual schedule that can be activated by other smart devices.

The m6's cutting-edge vSLAM technology can map your home to guide it through neat efficient rows, which clean every inch of your floors. It's compact and small and can be tucked under and around most furniture. It's never gotten stuck or trapped in my home and isn't yet running out of batteries. You can control it using the irobot robot vacuum cleaner app, or via your voice, if have an Google assistant or Alexa device.
