1. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni

The X2 Omni robot vacuum-mop is the latest in Ecovacs range of hybrid robot vacuum mops. This wet/dry model includes the updated AIVI 3D2.0 lidar system from Ecovacs, which provides enhanced mapping and obstruction-free operation. It uses dual-laser LiDAR similar to the kind you'd find in self-driving cars -- and can scan up to 32 feet in 270 degrees. This means more precise mapping, faster response time, and higher cleaning accuracy.

It also comes with a rotating mopping pad made of chenille fabric, which makes it easier to scrub hard areas than traditional mop. During my testing the X2 Omni took just over a minute to wash its pad and get to work, and I noticed it was more precise than other models that seemed to follow a grid route around rooms. It was able to navigate around corners and edges of my rooms, and also create "Zambani patterns" up and down the middle of the room. It returned to its OMNI Station frequently to empty the dustbin and wash the mop with hot water, before starting another cleaning task.

The X2 Omni is just as simple to use and set up as the other Ecovacs products. Snap the dock into position then plug it in and connect it to your home WiFi network. It takes just about a minute. Then, you can launch the app to begin your first cleaning task. I was able to customize my floor plan in less than 15 minutes. This included creating limited areas for sweeping and mopping and rearranging the layout of wall-mounted furniture and more. The X2 Omni performed impressively during my tests, scoring excellent scores for cleaning pet hair and debris cleaning, as well as close to perfect results in cleaning crevices and edges.

The Deebot T10 is a fantastic robot vacuum that delivers impressive results. It was able to vacuum up more than 96% of the debris we threw at it on our hardwood flooring which is an impressive performance. It was a success on carpets and tiles and removed 99percent of dirt.

This robot vacuum and mop has a large docking station that offers cool water auto-cleaning for its mop pads, and auto-emptying into a 3L plastic bag that is easy to replace, and hot air drying for quick and easy maintenance. It also has a large water tank that permits frequent washing and drying between mopping runs.

Like many other mopping robots, the Deebot T10 Omni has a wash tray in its base that cleans and dry its mop pads when it uses them. However, it doesn't come with an open tray, meaning that dirty water, dust and other grime slowly accumulates in the bottom of the tray over time.

3. RoboVac X8 hybrid

This is the first mopping model made by Anker which is well-known for its robot vacuums. It has upgraded smarts, multiple maps support, and LIDAR scanning, in addition to twin-turbine suction technology that adjusts to the surface you're cleaning. It's a mid-range OKP 3800Pa Robotic Vacuum Cleaner with Laser Navigation cleaner that's appealing even if its promise of being a one-stop-shop for floor cleaning doesn't be realized.

The X8 Hybrid appears to be a standard robotic cleaner from the top. It is a circular design with the sweeping wheels, as well as a raised sensor area. The A4s Pro has a convenient auto-cleaning mode that increases suction to tackle tough dirt or spills. It also comes with a battery powered ElectroWall to set boundaries for the robot.

This budget-friendly model from a popular upstart brand is the cheapest model we've ever tested and provides an outstanding value for price. The basic navigation system employs an extremely basic random pathing algorithm and lacks room mapping capabilities, which makes it less efficient than other models on this list. It's still able to get under furniture and in the corners. Its mopping mode performed well in our tests and picked up hairs that were straying and other debris.

5. Shark iQ

Shark's iQ isn't as robust as the Roomba S9, but it does better overall at getting rid of pet hair on all surfaces. It gets rid of floors with less thoroughly and does a good job on low-pile carpet and also utilizes smart-pathing navigational technology to provide superior maneuverability. It can be sent to a specific location, and has a suite of advanced automation features, including no-go zones and schedules. It can even pause and resume cleaning sessions and is perfect for households with pets.

Its self-cleaning brushroll helps prevent the tangles caused by pet hair and other debris, and its self-emptying bagless docking station can hold up to 30 days worth of dirt before it needs to be cleaned. It comes with of angled side brushes that can reach into corners, as well as a multi-stage filter system that captures dust, dander and allergens.

This robot vacuum feels solid and well-constructed, and it has a smartphone app which lets you alter the settings of your vacuum and schedule cleaning times in advance.
