It's not as adept at scouring pet hair or other small mess as our top picks, but it's great for those on a budget. It also has the most features in terms of apps like virtual no-go zones and zone cleaning.

1. Roomba iRobot i3+ from iRobot EVO

The iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO is a sturdy, well-built robot that does an excellent job at vacuuming floors. It has a large dirt compartment on the outside that automatically fills up into the docking station when it's full, and then resumes cleaning after it's recharged. It's efficient in removing small and medium debris from floors with no floor however it has a difficult time dealing with pet hair and has high cost of maintenance.

Like the i3 EVO, this robot uses iRobot's iAdapat 3.0 navigation software to help you navigate your home's features and keep track of certain rooms for future cleaning. It comes with a feature that automatically adjusts the suction power and the height of the head depending on what kind of floor it is working on.

It performed admirably in our tests on both hard floors and low-pile, removing the majority of the smaller and more difficult debris that we placed on each surface, as well as the larger crumbs of cereal we put on the floor. It's a little less adept in handling pet hair than some of the top models we've tested, however, and it may be stuck on toys or cords if you don't pick them up before sending the robot out to clean.

In our tests, it cleaned for about 90 minutes before the battery went out and it returned to the base. That's better than the i7+ and s9+ which both ran for only 60 minutes in our tests. The i3+ EVO has a solid track record of recollecting its previous run, something we haven't seen with other robots.

The i3+ EVO dustbin is 1.5 quarts in size, which is smaller than the majority of robots we have tested. It has an release button on the side of the bin that you can press to empty it. You can also empty the bin via the docking station's Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal. It sucks up the contents of the internal dust bin and then empties it into the station's dirt bag.

2. Eureka Q5 pro

The Q5 Pro offers outstanding cleaning efficiency, with a suction of 5,500pa and mopping systems that can be up and running within a few minutes. Its 770ml dustbin as well as water tank can reduce the frequency of emptying and its large capacity allows for longer mopping sessions. Its 240-minute runtime makes it an excellent option for homes with large spaces. The Shark RV1001AEC Self-Empty XL Robot Vacuum - Wi-Fi-Compatible's advanced navigation technology, built on PreciSense LiDAR mapping, ensures it covers the entire room and can maneuver around obstacles.

Contrary to other robot vacuum Mops vacuums that are available, the Q5 Pro does not require Wi-Fi for operation. However, its battery life is quite short, so you'll need to recharge it regularly when you plan to use the robot for a long time. It is easy to maintain using an easy-to-clean dirtbag that is easily replaced and also a simple schedule of maintenance. It's also less expensive than its more expensive rivals.

The Q5 Pro can be a bit finicky when comes to pet hair and larger debris, but it does a solid job overall. In our tests the Q5 Pro was able remove more debris from carpets and floors than Dirt Devil Endura Max. However, it had a difficult time finding tight corners and recessed high-pile areas. It's also a lot more maneuverable, and the filtering system does a fantastic job of trapping allergens. However its straight suction floorhead is low to pass over heavy or bulky debris. It also has a few other minor drawbacks like the absence of features that are more advanced and its limited remote control functionality. Eureka Q5 Pro, despite its limitations, is a good choice for those looking for a basic robotic vacuum with mopping capabilities.

3. SwitchBot K10 Plus

The SwitchBot K10 Plus is a great option to get a smart vacuum that can also mop. The small robot has a compact form factor which allows it to fit into tight spaces such as corners and under furniture that larger robots can't reach. It also has a sophisticated LiDAR sensor which can detect obstacles and avoid collisions.

During our tests during our testing, the K10 Plus vacuumed up pet hair as well as crumbs and other debris quickly and efficiently from our carpeting. It also did an excellent job of getting into tight spots like under our beds and around the chair's legs. In addition to vacuuming, it can perform mopping tasks with an additional cloth or a wet wipe. The K10 Plus comes with a small package containing wet wipes to get you going.

The application for K10 Plus is easy to use and intuitive. It has a variety of options for customization like setting a no disruption time, adjusting the layout of the map and setting a timer for when you'd like it to clean. The app also monitors the use of different accessories such as the filter, side brush, bin filter, and sensors. This can be useful in determining when it's time to replace them.

The K10 Plus's battery life is pretty decent too. We could get approximately three hours of cleaning out of it with fully charged. It also charges fairly quickly. It releases dirt into a bin in the base station once it's finished. It can be quite loud, but not as loud as other robot vacuums that we've tested.

4. iRobot S9+

The iRobot Roomba S9+ belongs to the high-end S Series of the manufacturer, above models such as the iRobot Roomba J7 or iRobot Roomba i3. It's extremely adept at navigating around furniture and is able to work well on various surfaces. The main brushroll comes with counter rotating scrapers made of rubber, which efficiently remove the majority of pet hair and debris from carpets and bare floors. The suction power in real-world use is strong for a robot vacuum, but it's not quite as powerful as the power of top brands like the Roborock S8.

The Roomba S9+'s design is distinctly premium, with a D-shaped body that is more contemporary than its circular counterparts. This unique shape also helps it to get into corners and along edges with ease. However, it can create dust in these areas if you do not spin the corner brush in a fast enough manner. However, its powerful motor is more than enough to make up for it.

In iRobot's tests the S9+ was able to pick up pet hair and cat litter effortlessly. It also did exceptionally well on hard floors, where its powerful motor was able to power through most types and edges and corners easily. Its advanced vSLAM technology and Imprint Smart Mapping made it one of our top navigators. It is able to find its way through sofas or beds with draped valances.

Setup and operation are easy with the iRobot app. You can select which functions to start during the initial set up process or wait until you've got a better feel for how it works. The internal bin must be manually emptied when it is full however, the process only takes about 15 minutes and is fairly quiet.

5. Roborock S8

The most recent version of the Roborock S Series is a powerful robot vacuum and mop combination with a comprehensive feature set. It makes use of the LIDAR and camera system to avoid obstacles and navigate, just like its predecessors. The application's mapping system creates an interactive 3D map of your home that allows you to mark certain rooms for spot cleaning or set up no-go zones. The app lets you control the robot's schedule, and select different mopping and vacuuming modes for each room.

The S8 has upgraded HyperForce suction that is able to remove fine particles and hair with ease. The app can be used to adjust suction power, and the device will automatically switch between energy-efficient 'Quiet,' 'Balanced,' and 'Turbo' mode depending on the surface it's cleaning. It also features a Carpet Suction Boost mode that boosts suction when the robot is on rugs.

The S8 can be controlled by one button, which also serves as a 'Cleaning' button for the entire robot or the Spot Clean button to direct it to a specific location. It is also possible to press the 'Dock/Home' button to send the robot back to its base station. The app is surprisingly rich features and is simple to use. You can also choose when you charge your phone off-peak in order to save money on peak-time energy.

The only downside to the S8 is that its battery does not last longer than it should, allowing only 130 minutes of use when I left it at its default settings with both vacuuming and mopping enabled. This is still a long time and was enough to wash my apartment.
