Buggies that are single buggies.

A buggy that is lightweight is a great choice for parents who travel a lot and use public transport, or plan on going on holiday with their child. They typically weigh less than 6kg in weight and have a compact fold that allows them to be carried easily in overhead compartments for luggage on flights. They are also simple to move and are ideal for city travel. Many come with shade and raincover that are worth investing in to keep your baby entertained during any outing!

A jogger's buggy is large with BMX wheels and is designed for exercise. It will also have adequate suspension to withstand the bounces and bumps that come with off-road usage. It can be difficult to steer a jogger buggie as the front wheels could swivel. Locking this wheel is crucial when crossing roads or putting on kerbs.

Buying a single standing stroller buggy

A new buggy can be costly. The majority of pushchairs with newborn bassinets cost more than PS700, which can be an enormous amount for parents on limited incomes.

The reality is that, unless you live in a city with public transport readily available or have a huge car boot and spend your weekend in muddy parks, most families end up buying two buggies. One sturdy buggy that is able to take on rough terrain, carry large loads and expand with your family, and a second, lighter buggy to be used on holidays or in tight spaces such as public transport and busy streets.

Our suggestion is to purchase one that you like and then, if your child gets older and you require an additional double, you can simply sell it and then re-purchase the buggy you want. You won't be stuck with a novelty that you don't want.

Double buggy: Buying one

When you are buying a double buggy, there are a lot of things to think about, from the amount it will cost to the type of reclining positions the seats offer. Also, be aware of whether you require a large basket or the type of suspension that the buggy has. Consider the features you would like to have on your buggy like sunshades and rain covers.

There is a variety of double buggies available on market and the right one for you will depend on the person who will be using it and your budget limitations. If you are expecting twins or have a toddler and a newborn, you might want a more flexible stroller that will grow with your family.
